How can I unlock the email signature in Outlook?

Policy Patrol Signatures will lock the email signature setting in Outlook so that the user cannot edit it. If you wish to unlock this setting, you need to do the following on the Outlook client machine:

Outlook Client:

  1. Open PolicyPatrol.Signatures.Client.Outlook.exe.config on the client machine in Notepad.
  2. Locate the setting 'LockSignature' and set its value to False.
  3. Restart the Policy Patrol Signatures Outlook client service.
  4. Once the signature has been re-applied, restart Outlook and the signature settings are unlocked.

Outlook Add-In:

  1. Open PolicyPatrol.Signatures.Client.Outlook.2010.AddIn.dll.config which is located on the Outlook client machine in the user's application folder (by default C:\Users\[User]\AppData\Roaming\Red Earth Software\Policy Patrol Signatures)
  2. Locate the setting 'LockSignature' and set its value to False.
  3. Restart Outlook and the signature settings are unlocked.
